Asante Blackk (born October 20, 2001) is an American Actor, Comedian, and Instagram Personality from Maryland. He started his career by participating in various school production plays.

In fact, Asante also released numerous comedy videos on his social media account. Before professional acting, Blackk posts challenges, reactions, vines, tutorials, and much more on his YouTube channel.

The Central Park Jogger Case

The brutal incident took place on the night of April 19, 1989, in the North Woods of Manhattan’s Central Park. Trisha Meili was a 28-year-old investment banker at the time was raped and assaulted.

It was one of the most widely publicized crimes of the 1980s. In fact, the attack took place shortly before 9 p.m. which left Meili in a coma for 12 days. She was beaten, dragged or chased nearly 300 feet, and violently assaulted.

Furthermore, Trisha was later found nude, badly wounded, and she was covered in mud & blood. Her skull was seriously cracked and 75 percent of her blood drained from her body

On the night of the offense, 4 teenage Afro-Americans and one teenage Hispanic were arrested in connection with a number of attacks in Central Park performed. They were Korey Wise, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, and Yusef Salaam.

The juveniles then went for various interview sessions for hours conducted by investors. Later, the defendants charged with rape, sexual abuse, assault, robbery, riot, and attempted murder.

However, the FBI tested the DNA of the five teenagers with the rape kit and found it did not match any of them before the trial. They also accused of other attacks in the park, based solely on confessions.

But they later told in a documentary “The Central Park Five” that those confessions were false and coerced.

Rapist Matias Reyes’ Confession & Court Trials

The prosecutor, Elizabeth Lederer conducted numerous interrogations. In the end, she used the kids’ statement and their confession as the main proof that they abused Trisha Meili.

In the first trial in August 1990, Yusef, McCray, and Raymond vindicated of attempted murder. But they convicted of sexual abuse, assault, and riot and sentenced to 5–15 years. The four younger boys except Korey Wise served their time in juvenile facilities. Later, they transferred to adult jails at age 21.

In 2002, Matias Reyes (convicted murderer and serial rapist) who was serving a life sentence in prison confessed of raping the central park female jogger. His DNA also matched with the rape kit of the Meili.

Finally, all the falsely convicted teenagers released then. Later, they sued New York City in 2003 for malicious prosecution, racial discrimination, and emotional distress. Moreover, the city concluded the case for $41 million USD in 2014.
